My Journey of Hope!
This summer, I’ll be biking across the country with 60 of my brothers from Pi Kappa Phi as part of Journey of Hope. It’s a challenge that will push us physically and mentally every single day, but more importantly, it’s something much bigger than just the ride.
We’re doing this in support of The Ability Experience, an organization dedicated to serving people with disabilities and promoting inclusion. Every mile we ride is meant to raise awareness, build connections, and support individuals who face challenges far beyond what we’ll experience on the road.
For me, this journey is also personal.
I’m not coming into this in perfect shape. Over time, I’ve put on weight and lost some of the discipline I used to have. But committing to this ride has forced me to change that. I’ve started training again, getting back on the bike, and pushing myself in ways I haven’t in a long time. It hasn’t been easy, but that’s the point.
This ride is about growth. It’s about showing up even when it’s uncomfortable, even when it would be easier not to. It’s about proving to myself that I can follow through on something that demands consistency, effort, and resilience.
At the end of the day, though, this isn’t just about me.
It’s about the people we’re riding for. It’s about using our time, energy, and effort to support a cause that truly matters. If I’m going to push myself this summer, I want it to be for something bigger than just personal goals.
Journey of Hope is that reason.
As I continue training and preparing for the ride, I’ll be sharing updates along the way. If you’re able to support, whether through a donation or just by following along, it genuinely means a lot.
This is going to be one of the hardest things I’ve done.
And that’s exactly why I’m doing it.
