My Journey of Hope!
Hello, my name is Colin and I'm a student at the University of California, Davis. This summer, I will be cycling across the United States as part of the Journey of Hope, an ~8,000-mile ride dedicated to raising funds and awareness for the disability community. Through my work as an EMT and my experiences in healthcare, I've seen firsthand how kindness, compassion, and community support can make a real difference in people's lives. These experiences motivate me to take on this journey, not just as a physical challenge, but as a way to support a cause I truly believe in. The Journey of Hope isn’t just about the miles we ride but the conversations we start and the barriers we challenge along the way. At each stop along our route, we advocate for a world where people of all abilities are included, respected, empowered, and celebrated. Your donation directly supports The Ability Experience, which provides programs and events that improve access, independence, and opportunities for people with disabilities across the country. This ride may be the hardest challenge I've ever undertaken, but it’s nothing compared to the everyday challenges faced by the individuals and families affected by disability who lack access, understanding, or support. That’s why I’m riding, and why your support truly matters. Any contribution, big or small, helps turn the miles I ride into meaningful impact. One Month Away!
Sunday 3rd MayHello everyone!
I wanted to share an update as I’m now just one month out from the Journey of Hope. It’s starting to feel very real, and I’m very excited by how close this ride is!
On the fundraising side, I have about $2,000 left to reach my goal, and I truly believe we can get there together. Every donation continues to directly support The Ability Experience and the programs that create more opportunities, independence, and inclusion for people with disabilities.
My training has ramped up quite a bit as well; I’ve been steadily building mileage, and I have about 400 miles left to complete before the ride begins. This past quarter, I’ve also been taking a class focused on educating children with disabilities which has given me a much deeper understanding of the importance of inclusion and accessibility. It’s been really meaningful to learn about these perspectives in the classroom, and I’m excited to carry this new knowledge with me on this ride and continue finding ways to make a positive impact.

February Update!

Hello everyone!
I wanted to share a quick update on my Journey of Hope progress since starting this fundraiser. Over the past couple of months, we’ve raised $2,500 for the disability community! To everyone who has supported, donated, and encouraged me along the way, THANK YOU!
My training has been moving forward as well. I’ve logged about 250 miles on the bike so far, along with regular workouts in the gym to build strength and endurance. The miles are only going to ramp up from here, and I’m excited to keep pushing myself in the months ahead.
This journey is about so much more than cycling; it’s about raising awareness, building inclusion, and supporting an amazing cause, and I’m truly grateful to have such a strong group of people behind me.
