My Gear Up New York Journey!
This summer, I am dedicating my time to serving others on one of The Ability Experience's cycling events called Gear Up New York. I will be joining a team that will travel across the Empire State from Niagara Falls to Manhattan in order to spread our message of empathy and acceptance for our friends with disabilities! We will meet with dozens of organizations that support people with disabilities along the way.

Tuesday 30th DecAs this year comes to an end, I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want to move forward and what kind of impact I want to make. For me, that starts with being part of something bigger than myself.
My name is Luis Garcia, and I’m a student at the University of Iowa. This year, I’m raising funds for Gear Up New York, a signature event of Pi Kappa Phi’s Ability experience. A cycling journey from Buffalo to New York City. It’s not just about the miles on the road — it’s about the people we meet along the way. Riders visit organizations that support individuals with disabilities, hear their stories.
