Coast-to-Coast with The Ability Experience
This summer, I am dedicating my time to serving others on one of The Ability Experience's cycling events called Journey of Hope. I will traveling-coast to-coast on a Felt VR road bike alongside a team of brothers that will bike about 4000 miles over the course about 60 days. As an executive member of my Pi Kappa Phi chapter, I have made an effort to elevate chapter standing and engagement at Wake Forest, and have been impressed by the brother's involvement in efforts and camps relating to the Ability Experience. By taking on this challenge I hope represent the values and efforts of my brothers here at Wake Forest and elevate our efforts to the national level.
Personally, I accepted the challenge of the Journey of Hope because I believe it is an opportunity unlike any other that gives undergraduate members the unique chance meet, work with, and elevate folks with disabilities in meaningful ways. Unfortunately, it is the case for many of these folks they have difficultly being seen and talked to by others in meaningful ways, JOH gives me the opportunity to make and effort in combatting this in multiple locations across the country.
