2026 SUMMER RIDE ALONG
The Ability Experience offers the opportunity to cycle with our summer teams on Gear Up Florida, Journey of Hope, or Gear Up New York. A ride along is a great opportunity to experience what it is like to be a team member or relive the glory days if you've done the summer event in the past. As a ride along participant, you'll stay at the team's lodging, eat and ride with the team! You can join the team for up to 3 days!

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the requirements to participate?
All participants must be 18+ years old, or accompanied by a parent/guardian. Cyclists should be experienced and able to safely ride in groups of 4-5 at steady pace of 16-20mph.
Did I need to provide my own bike?
Yes, you are responsible for all the necessary cycling gear. Bikes must be a road or gravel style bike. Gravel tires are recommended but not required. Helmets are required to be worn at all times while cycling.
Can I participate if I don't want to ride a bike?
Absolutely! We welcome crew member ride alongs as well. Fundraising and expectations are the same, but crew member ride alongs will be able to ride with a crew member for the day(s).
What happens if I raise more than the $250?
We love over-acheivers...especially when it comes to fundraising! As a 'thank you' for going above and beyond with your fundraising, you will receive the follow incentives:
$400 = Ability Experience Hat
$600 = Event Cycling Jersey
$1,000 = Ability Experience Polo
Do I need to be a member of Pi Kappa Phi to participate?
No! All friends and supporters of The Ability Experience are invited to ride along.
What is the fundraising requirement?
All ride along participants must fundraise at least $250. Fundraising requirement must be must BEFORE riding with the team.
Special accommodations may be made for event volunteers.
Are meals and lodging provided?
All meals will be provided while you are with the team. You will be able to stay overnight with the team at their sponsored lodging (typically a gym floor) or you can arrange your own lodging.
