Hi everyone! My name is Julia Clare Addison and I'm representing Kappa Delta in running for Ability Queen for Pi Kappa Phi's War of the Roses!
The Ability Experience is Pi Kappa Phi's national philanthropy dedicated to creating a community where people with disabilities are valued, included, and celebrated for who they are. Through service, fundraising, and awareness, the organization works to break down barriers and build a world where everyone has the opportunity to belong. As a member of Kappa Delta, I am so excited to support this mission and share a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
Growing up, I was always taught that no one has bad differences, only good ones. That belief has shaped the way I see the world and is a huge part of why the Ability Experience means so much to me. Through my experiences with Young Life and getting to know my friends in Capernaum, I have seen how powerful it is when people are welcomed, loved, and celebrated for exactly who they are.
Having a family member with autism has made this mission even more personal to me. He has reminded me that, at the end of the day, kids are kids. They want to laugh, play, make friends, feel loved, and be included just like anyone else. A diagnosis or disability does not define a person or take away from all the wonderful things that make them who they are.
My faith is at the heart of everything I believe about this mission. We are all God's creations, made in His image, and every single person deserves to be treated with dignity, love, and respect. I believe it is our responsibility to look beyond differences, challenge misconceptions, and create a world where everyone feels like they belong.
To me, the Ability Experience is about so much more than fundraising or awareness. It is about building genuine relationships, breaking down barriers, and reminding people that they are seen, valued, and loved. As I run for Ability Queen, I hope to use my voice to spread awareness, encourage others to embrace inclusion, and help create a community where differences are not something to judge, but something to celebrate.
I am so excited to be running for Ability Queen and to have the opportunity to support such a meaningful cause! If you would like to support me in this journey, you can donate directly through my fundraising page. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference and helps support the Ability Experience's mission. If donating isn't possible right now, even sharing the link around is so helpful! Thank you so much for helping me spread awareness, share the love, and make a difference!
