Throughout my years studying Mechanical Engineering at NJIT, I’ve had the privilege to join my Pi Kappa Phi brothers in serving The Ability Experience, a service organization with incredible opportunities to celebrate those living with disabilities. Their mission is simple, to focus on one’s abilities, not disabilities. It is my honor to help create a more compassionate community to allow disabled individuals to be able to thrive!

Participating in programs through The Ability Experience has provided a meaningful relationship with the disabled community where I have been inspired to devote this upcoming summer to Gear Up New York, a 560 mile cycling event with the purpose to serve and engage local communities throughout the Empire State!

I will be joining a team that will be traveling from Niagara Falls to Manhattan in order to spread our message of empathy and acceptance for our friends with disabilities. We will meet with dozens of service organizations along the way. 

Our mission is to focus on our four core values: abilities, teamwork, empathy and integrity. I’m very proud to have the opportunity to help carry out this mission, raise awareness and help grow a powerful Pi Kappa Phi service tradition in New York.

A key component of this journey is to raise funds for The Ability Experience through donors and sponsorships. Every generous donation brings us closer to becoming leaders in creating more inclusive communities.  With over seven million Americans living with a developmental disability, together we can create a more empathetic and supportive community that removes societal barriers.
