My name is Skylar Parker, and I am a member of Delta Zeta at the University of North Georgia. I am currently participating in Pi Kappa Phi’s War of the Roses, where I am raising funds for The Ability Experience as part of the Ability Queen competition. This organization works to support individuals with disabilities by promoting accessibility, inclusion, and independence through meaningful programs and outreach. This opportunity is deeply meaningful to me because I have always had a heart for serving others. Through my time working in children’s ministry and as an after-school classroom assistant, I have had the privilege of working with children of all abilities, including those with disabilities. Those experiences have truly shaped my perspective and given me a deeper sense of purpose, showing me how important it is that every individual feels seen, supported, and valued. I believe we are called to be good stewards of what we have been given, using our time, resources, and opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. Being entrusted with this candidate position is something I do not take lightly; I see it as both a responsibility and a blessing. It is a chance for me to step outside of myself and be part of something greater, and to use this opportunity to serve with intention and compassion.
